These Sea Salt Sweet Potato Steak Fries are crisp on the outside, tender inside, and incredibly simple to make. I prefer leaving the skin on for extra texture and flavor — just scrub the potatoes well before cutting. If you prefer skinless fries, peel them first.

These fries are a summer favorite and pair perfectly with burgers, sandwiches, grilled steak, chicken, fish, or even eggs. They make a healthier, satisfying side that elevates any meal.

Sea Salt Sweet Potato Steak Fries
Ingredients
- 1 lg sweet potato or 2 med size, scrubbed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
- 1 tsp coarse sea salt crystals optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spray a large baking sheet (or two smaller sheets) with nonstick spray and set aside.
- Scrub the sweet potato(s) thoroughly if leaving the skin on. Cut the potato in half, then into quarters, and slice into large steak-style fries.
- Place the sweet potato pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over them, sprinkle with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, and toss with your hands to coat.
- Arrange the fries in a single layer without overcrowding. Use two baking sheets if needed and leave space between pieces so they crisp up rather than steam.
- Bake on the middle rack for 15 minutes. Flip the fries and bake another 10–12 minutes, or until edges begin to brown and fries are tender inside.
