These vegan chocolate chip cookies are a delightful sweet treat made with wholesome, simple ingredients.
Hello everyone — I’m excited to share a lot today, starting with these wonderfully easy vegan chocolate chip cookies. I’m not the most confident baker, so I tested this recipe several times to get the texture and flavor right. Because ovens vary, results may differ slightly; please leave a comment or email me with feedback. And since this is a vegan recipe, any imperfect batches can at least be sampled as dough!
I also want to share a new direction for Well and Full. Recently I moved into a new house with my fiancé, and that experience has reshaped how I think about home. Our previous apartment felt unsafe and stressful after some difficult events, and moving has brought a big change. In our new place I finally feel calm and secure. It’s not a big or extravagant home, but it feels right because it’s ours.
Another influence has been watching Fixer Upper. The show’s focus on design, family, and creating a meaningful home resonates with me. I admire Joanna Gaines — she balances creativity, business, and family in a way that inspires me. Seeing her prioritize home and family reminds me of my own goals: to build a loving, creative household while growing my work.
Now that we’re settled, I feel energized to make our home cozy and welcoming. I plan to reflect that in the blog by featuring more homestyle, family-friendly recipes. Don’t worry — I won’t abandon healthy cooking, but you’ll see more comforting dishes that celebrate cooking for loved ones. These vegan chocolate chip cookies are a good example: a treat made with thoughtful, wholesome ingredients.
Going forward I’ll be adding recipes that are nurturing for both body and spirit: homestyle biscuits, vegan mac and cheese, chocolate chip banana muffins, vegan buttermilk pancakes, and simple strawberry jam are a few ideas. If you have comfort-food recipes you’d like veganized, please leave a comment or send a request — I enjoy adapting recipes and hearing your ideas.
Thank you for reading. I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy these cookies. See you next week!

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
- Pinch of Sea Salt
- 3/4 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
Wet Ingredients
- 1/3 Cup Maple Syrup
- 1/3 Cup Coconut Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Melted Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Almond Milk
- 4-6 Tbs Almond Milk
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients until evenly combined.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Do not add the almond milk yet.
-
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a crumbly dough forms.
-
Add 4 tablespoons almond milk and mix until incorporated. If the dough remains too crumbly, add 1–2 more tablespoons until it holds together.
-
Use a cookie or ice cream scoop to portion cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. This recipe makes about 16 cookies; you may need more than one sheet.
-
Flatten each scoop into a 1/2–3/4 inch disk and smooth the edges. These cookies won’t spread much while baking, so shape them as you like before placing in the oven.
-
Bake one sheet at a time for about 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on the sheet before transferring to a rack. Repeat until all cookies are baked.
-
Serve warm with a glass of cold vanilla almond milk.
-
Enjoy!
Notes
- Use 3/4 cup chocolate chips or about a 3-ounce chocolate bar chopped finely; dark chocolate works well but any chip will do.
- I recommend baking on parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
