Welcome to the very first Inspiration Cafe post.
How exciting!
Grab a coffee and settle in — let’s get started.
A quick introduction about me…
My name is Natalie. I’m a proud mum of three lively children and married to a hardworking, supportive husband. I live on Auckland’s beautiful North Shore in New Zealand. I blog about crafts, painted white décor, jewelry and family life at Northshore Days.

Today I’ll show you how I made a beach-inspired memory wire bracelet.
It’s an easy project and you can adapt it with your choice of colors, beads and charms.
Lately I’ve grown fond of memory wire after avoiding it for years. I’m enjoying creating different styles with it. I often draw inspiration from my surroundings — last month I made a winter-inspired bracelet, and this week the beach was calling.
The beach photo that inspired this bracelet is one of my favorites and also features on my blog header. I loved the rich tones of sand and sea, the greenish water and the yellow-tinged sky that hinted at a coming storm.
What you need:
– Beads in various sizes, shapes and colors
– Charms to suit your theme (I used shells and starfish)
– Jump rings to attach the charms
– Memory wire cut to the desired length (mine wraps five times around my wrist)
Instructions:
Use long-nosed pliers to bend one end of the memory wire into a small loop to hold beads in place. Thread your beads and charms onto the wire, arranging them until you’re happy with the design, then finish the other end with another loop. Simple and effective.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll re-thread and adjust beads until the look feels just right.
Then we loaded the family into the car for a beach trip and a photo shoot to capture the finished piece in its natural setting.
This is one of my favorite creations so far. When I wear it through winter it will remind me of the beach and bring a little brightness to cold, dark days.
I hope you enjoyed our first post and that it inspires you to create something this week.
If you make one of our projects, let us know — we’d love to visit your blogs and see your work.
See you next week — Mary from Sweet Little Bluebird will share a delicious recipe with us.
Don’t forget to leave some comment love.
